The National Coalition
Summit of Independent Physicians©–Protecting the Doctor-Patient Relationship
in an Era of Government Mandates
SAN DIEGO — Wednesday, February 8, 2012
Nationally-recognized leaders in healthcare, politics, and the media will be featured in San Diego on May 5-6, 2012 to challenge Obamacare on quality, access and patient rights. Experts will provide the latest news from the physician’s perspective on the unpopular healthcare law. The meeting is expected to draw hundreds, perhaps thousands, and will feature a debate on the law’s fundamental deficiencies, patient care risks, and the constitutionality of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act itself.
The event will include, amongst others, the following medical groups: America’s Medical Society (AMS), the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS), Doctors4PatientCare (Docs4PC), the Academy of American Private Physicians (AAPP), the Doctor Patient Medical Association (DPMA/Patient Power Alliance), the Center for Peer Review Justice (CPRJ), the online physicians’ forum SERMO and the healthcare start-up Par80; acclaimed health care writer Sally Pipes of the Pacific Research Institute will also speak. Participating leaders will write a ‘white paper’ on re-engineering health care reform to insure protection of the sacred doctor-patient relationship and preservation of quality medical care in America.
The event will feature live WebTV coverage, and will be hosted by radio personality, syndicated columnist and talk show host Rick Amato. Expert speakers will include Congressman Duncan Hunter, Jr., Hal Scherz, M.D., Jane Orient, M.D., Marcy Zwelling, M.D., Daniel Palestrant, M.D., Richard Willner, Kathryn Serkes, Adam Dorin, M.D., Gary Gonsalves, M.D., and more.
America’s Medical Society (AMS) announced today that it has also chosen Rick Amato to be its national spokesperson for 2012.
“It’s a good fit,” said AMS Founder and President Doctor Adam Dorin. “Like us, Rick Amato is someone whose following is growing nationally. He also understands how to communicate ideas in a respectful, non-confrontational way—two attributes that were important to us.”
Dorin said Amato will be the public face of AMS. “Rick will represent America’s Medical Society and the national doctors’ coalition event on TV and radio guest appearances. He will also assist in developing media and public outreach strategies.”
Rick Amato is the host of The Rick Amato Show on radio, and the online TV show called Rick Amato TV; Rick writes a nationally syndicated newsletter called Amato For Liberty and is editor of AmatoTalk.com.
Studies have confirmed that the national coalition of physician groups collectively represent the majority of physicians in the country—doctors who, in fact, are not members of the AMA. The AMA’s membership consists of less than 15% of practicing community physicians, and its ongoing support for the Affordable Care Act has been roundly dismissed as dubious. The AMA receives $70-plus million annually in government-sanctioned, copyright royalties for all medical billing transactions.
The San Diego doctors’ coalition conference will be held at the Town and Country Resort and Convention Center in Mission Valley; registration is required, but attendance will be free.
